4月30日，工业和信息化部工业文化发展中心在京举办了“弘扬新时代精神 工艺美术创新发展”座谈会。此次会议是配合国家艺术基金支持的“新时代工艺美术作品巡展”项目开展的专题研讨座谈会，来自中国工艺美术学会、中国工艺美术协会、中国艺术研究院、清华大学美术学院、北京服装学院等单位的专家学者以及中国工艺美术工艺美术大师、巡展项目顾问专家参加了座谈会。

参会专家围绕 “工艺美术的时代精神与高质量发展” 这一核心议题，结合自身在教育、科研及实践领域的丰富经验，分享了独到见解。专家们认为，新时代的工艺美术需在传承传统技艺的基础上，积极融入现代设计理念、创新材料与技术，以满足当代消费者对于审美、功能及文化内涵的多元需求。同时，要注重从生活中汲取灵感，关注社会发展趋势，使作品既能体现民族特色，又具有鲜明的时代特征。
期间，工业和信息化部工业文化发展中心与中国工艺美术学会联合发布了2024年中国工艺美术十大事件和十大关键词。
